The new-look Detroit Pistons still have the Los Angeles Lakers' number. Rasheed Wallace had 25 points and 13 rebounds, Allen Iverson added 25 points and the Pistons handed the Lakers their first loss of the season, 106-95 Friday night. The win was the Pistons' eighth in the last 10 meetings. Kobe Bryant scored 29 points for the Lakers, but went 12-of-30 from the floor. "We just played a good all-around game," Iverson said after the Pistons won for the third time since his arrival from Denver five games ago. "It's just about playing basketball, understanding what we want to do on the basketball court. "We didn't feel like it would take long, but we knew it would be kind of shaky in the beginning because I'm a totally different player than Chauncey Billups. I'm a lot more aggressive when it comes to driving to the basket, so my teammates have to know what spot I want them to be in to be able to create shots for them." In winning their first seven, the Lakers had averaged a league-high 104.7 points and held opponents to a league-low 86.7. The Pistons obviously beat them on both ends of the court, with Los Angeles becoming the final NBA team to lose this season. "We just played defense," Iverson said. "We made them take tough, contested shots. When they missed, we got out and ran and took advantage. On the offensive end, we just attacked all night." Bryant said the Pistons presented a "matchup issue" for the Lakers' defense. "With Rasheed Wallace at the 5, and his ability to ...

Looking back on our childhood, we realize the stuff we loved as kids turns out to be total crap. This is no better emphasized than with video games. ea's early attempts at basketball (with which I was heavily inundated with Bulls vs. Lakers as a kid) being one... or four, depends how you look at it. Tonight, a look at these games and all of their "glory." I'm not happy at all with how this review turned out, but I'll shutup and leave the final verdict on this thing to you guys. Enjoy. Or at least try to.

(2009) Kobe Bryant torches the New York Knicks for 61pts - the most ever by any player at the Madison Square Garden. Its a blessing to do what you love and to have moments like this. That's how Kobe Bryant described his historic performance. With perhaps the need to lift up his team following the news of Andrew Bynum's knee injury, which will sideline him 8 to 12 weeks, KB amazed the MSG crowd by scoring 61pts and leading LA to a 126-117 win over the Knicks. Kobe started the game by hitting his first three shots and was clearly in attack mode. He scored 18pts in the first quarter and finished the half with 34pts - 2nd most by a player this season behind Melo's 36. He added 12 more in the 3rd and spent most of the 4th at the foul line, sanking one free throw after another. Kobe's absolutely stunning offensive performance was rewarded by chants of "MVP" and cheers from the MSG crowd as the reigning MVP left the game with 2 min remaining. He was better than Michael Jordan's 55 in March of 1995, the old record for an opponent. He was better than Bernard King's 60 against the Nets on Christmas in 1984. His 20-for-20 performance from the line on Monday was second only to Dominique Wilkins, who sank all 23 of his free throws against the Bulls in Dec. 1992. Bryant, who also finished with the highest-scoring game in the NBA this season, left to a loud ovation after the 24th 50-point game of his career. He recorded his fifth career 60-point game, the second most in NBA history ...

Ricky Davis On March 16, 2003, In the closing seconds of a game against Utah, Davis was one rebound short of his first career triple-double. In an effort to record that rebound, Davis attempted to deliberately miss a shot at his team's own basket, but was fouled by Utah's deshawn Stevenson before he could get the shot off.
